For Slabs:
On the walls:
The walls may start to grow mold or mildew.
Chipping or peeling of paint may begin to happen.
On the windows:
There might be significant condensation occurring on the windows.
In the heating ducts:
Water might enter the ducts (if they are below the floor ducts). This
causes wet air to blow out when the furnace blower turns on.
Heating ducts may also grow mold when furnace is not on, causing
allergies in the home. |

Block Walls:
Unpainted walls will turn dark grey when wet, damp spots occur.
Damp spots on painted walls will darken the paint color, looking
stained.
Cracks going horizontally and vertically may appear on the walls.
Discoloring of walls might begin when mold or mildew start to grow.
Efflorescence can appear- looking like a white, chalky substance.
Chipping or peeling of paint may begin to happen.
Poured Walls:
Discolorations can appear on the wall- from water following the steel
support bars (rebar) that are in the wall.
Discoloring of walls might begin when mold or mildew start to grow.
Cracks may begin to form anywhere on the wall going in any direction.
Discoloration may occur at the seam, where the wall and the floor meet.
You might get seepage from the cove (where the floor and wall meet).
Chipping or peeling of paint may begin to happen.
